An important tribute to the union of art and sport is his most famous sculpture, “Olympic Fountain", on display at the headquarters of the International Federation of Associated Struggles / FILA / in Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland. In 2010, he produced busts of six presidents of the Federation.

In recent years, Art Vladi has turned to painting and sculpture, working in a successful blend of Pop Art and Street Art styles. he customizes clothes (jackets, shoes, jeans, caps), and designs artistic furnishing objects.

Villa Cetinale - RIZZOLI
Villa Cetinale: Memoir of a House in Tuscany

Foreword by John Pawson, Text by Ned Lambton, Photographs by Simon Upton

After inheriting a seventeenth-century Tuscan villa, Ned Lambton and his wife, Marina, lovingly restored the estate as a retreat for family and friends. With newly commissioned photographs by Simon Upton, Lambton brings to life the rich history of the villa, its redecoration, its raucous history, and, above all else, the dream of owning and renovating a Tuscan villa.
Located just outside Siena, Italy, Villa Cetinale stands amid vineyards, silver olive groves, and wooded hills that have remained largely untouched since the late seventeenth century, when Cardinal Flavio Chigi, a nephew of Pope Alexander VII, expanded what was a modest farmhouse into the villa we see today.

Cetinale was acquired from the Chigi dynasty in 1978, by the charismatic Lord Antony Lambton, the author’s father, who cultivated the villa’s reputation as one of the most beautiful and glamorous homes in Italy, laying out new gardens and hosting fashionable figures from England (Princess Margaret, Prince Charles, Mick Jagger, Rupert Everett, Tony Blair, and Kate Moss).

The villa has undergone major refurbishment—all without altering the original character of the house—with restoration work carried out by Bolko von Schweinichen, a Florentine architect known for his reverent handling of historic buildings, and interiors by London decorator Camilla Guinness, a lifelong friend of the family.

About The Author

Ned Lambton inherited the seventeenth-century Villa Cetinale from his late father and former member of Parliament, Lord Antony Lambton. He lives in London and Tuscany with his wife, Marina Lambton, and their four children. John Pawson, CBE, RDI, is the architect and designer behind such high-profile projects as the West Hollywood Edition and London’s Design Museum. Simon Upton travels the world capturing people and their homes on behalf of major publishing houses and magazines such as World of Interiors, Vogue, Architectural Digest, and Elle Decor.

We Started a Nightclub - THAMES & HUDSON

"We Started a Nightclub": The Birth of the Pyramid Cocktail Lounge as Told by Those Who Lived It

Published in association with Some Serious Business
What Studio 54 was for disco, the Pyramid Cocktail Lounge was for the alternative scene of 1980s downtown New York. Located at 101 Avenue A, the Pyramid offered a mixture of cultures: from groundbreaking, irreverent theater and experimental music to “anti-drag” that challenged the norms of gender binaries.

It began in 1981 when the East Village was considered a dangerous no man’s land, rents were cheap, AIDS was still unknown and a new generation of creators broke the mold and went on to make art in an atmosphere of unbridled celebration. Theme nights and bar dancers, fixtures of the downtown avant-garde and kids escaping their past all added to the club’s popularity. At the Pyramid, John Jesurun and Ann Magnuson rubbed elbows with They Might Be Giants, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and 3 Teens Kill 4, who shared a stage with Lady Bunny and Hapi Phace. By offering a home to obscure, genre-defying and unpolished acts, the Pyramid played a crucial role in shaping the city’s underground cultural scene for decades to come. In 2021, the Pyramid closed permanently. Though the venue was no longer the hotspot of its early years, its closure prompted an outpouring of reminiscence and mourning for a bygone era, amid a broad renewed interest in the art and culture of 1980s New York.

"We Started A Nightclub" is an inside look at the cultural history of the East Village in the early 1980s. The project, which began in 2006, represents the only in-depth exploration of the Pyramid’s origins. An oral history comprising more than 75 interviews, it covers the early years of the Pyramid from the time of its founding through its rise, near demise and rebirth. The book includes previously unpublished photos, flyers and other ephemera, as well as excerpts from more than 50 press releases written between 1983 and 1986.
