While Karl Lagerfeld was famous for being at the very centre of the fashion industry for over half a century, he was equally opinionated when it came to interiors, which acted as a private creative outlet alongside his fashion designs.

Following an overview by Patrick Mauriès, each house is introduced by a short text by Marie Kalt unveiling its history and identifying key designers and pieces. The homes are documented by date, beginning with rare photography of Lagerfeld’s early addresses in the 1960s and 1970s, through to his final house purchase in 2009. From the elegant Art-Deco inspired apartment in Saint-Sulpice, Paris, to the incredibly ornate 18th-century mansion, Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo (his muse and collaborator Amanda Harlech described Lagerfeld as having ‘a Versailles complex’) – Lagerfeld’s houses reveal he was a collector of a Renaissance scale, and showed spectacular range in his decorating styles. Lagerfeld would balance the old with the new, humorously describing the minimalist decor of his 200-year old apartment in Quai Voltaire, Paris as ‘like floating in your own spaceship over a very civilised past’, and moved from one atmosphere to the next, leaving a Memphis-designed apartment in Monte Carlo for a Grand-Tour themed Roman pied-à-terre, followed by bucolic French country houses and even a majestic Nordic villa in his native Hamburg.

Art Vladi is both a prolific, multi-faceted artist, and a professional kickboxer and wrestler. This unusual combination is essential to his many creations internationally.

Born in Sofia (Bulgaria) in 1980, Art Vladi grew up in an artistic family environment, lucky to have a father who was a sculptor and painter. Already at the age of 15 he began to work with stone and made a sculpture in black granite of a famous Bulgarian businessman. His training in plastic arts school for 5 years allowed him to specialize in wood sculpture, Japanese manga drawings and in the psychology of art. Soon after, he developed his talents by working with his father to create sculptures in granite, bronze and other materials.

Two years later, Art Vladi was also trained in Wrestling. An important tribute to the union of art and sport is his most famous sculpture, “Olympic Fountain", on display at the headquarters of the International Federation of Associated Struggles / FILA / in Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland. In 2010, he produced busts of six presidents of the Federation.

In recent years, Art Vladi has turned to painting and sculpture, working in a successful blend of Pop Art and Street Art styles. he customizes clothes (jackets, shoes, jeans, caps), and designs artistic furnishing objects.

In 2016, Art Vladi produced canvases for UFC Champion Conner McGregor for his private collection.

Edited with the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, this catalog demonstrates how Modigliani’s partnership with his gallerist Paul Guillaume influenced his painting.

Amedeo Modigliani, a Jewish-Italian painter, arrived in Paris in 1906. His meeting with Constantin Brancusi in 1909 inspired Modigliani to sculpt—almost exclusively—until 1914, when he met art dealer Paul Guillaume. He returned to painting and produced countless portraits from 1914 until his death in 1920. Modigliani painted prominent contemporaries such as Jean Cocteau and Max Jacob, but also unknown models and the women in his life, including writer Béatrice Hastings and painter Jeanne Hébuterne, his partner and the mother of his child. Guillaume encouraged Modigliani, rented him an atelier in Montmartre, promoted his paintings in Parisian art and literary circles and abroad, and bought, sold, and collected more than a hundred of his paintings, fifty drawings, and a dozen sculptures. Guillaume’s writings offer intimate insight into Modigliani, highlighting their rapport and shared interests in African art, literature, and poetry. Modigliani in turn immortalized Guillaume in four portraits. This volume accompanies an exhibition at the Musée de l’Orangerie (September 20, 2023–January 15, 2024).
