La Vie de Clare V. - RIZZOLI
La Vie de Clare V.: Paris Chic/L.A. Cool Written by Clare Vivier

Author Clare Vivier, Foreword by Christy Turlington, Afterword by Jimmy Kimmel
The debut book by fashion and lifestyle designer Clare Vivier, whose eponymous brand has expanded from her Los Angeles home base to become the epitome of bohemian American chic.

In 2008, Clare Vivier, now known as the “Queen of the Clutch,” wanted to create a brand where women could find joy. She started Clare V. as a collection of handbags and accessories, and later introduced clothing and lifestyle designs that embrace classic shapes with uniquely graphic and modern details. The Clare V. aesthetic is an unexpected, colorful marriage of bohemian French chic and relaxed American prep—a reflection of the designer’s style influence and life, which she divides between L.A. and France. Devoid of hardware or logos, the brand places an emphasis on craftsmanship, authenticity, and functionality—while also creating a le cute collection designed for women by women.

Celebrating fifteen years of Clare V., this vibrantly hued volume takes readers through Clare’s journey and inspiration: from her childhood in Minnesota and years in Paris, to the creation of an iconic, female-owned American company that responds to women’s needs today. Each page is replete with a colorful mix of imagery: collages of iconic bags and accessories, inspiring mood boards, selfies and personal photographs of Clare’s travels, and street style shots of Clare V. designs worn across the globe. Also featured are special collaborations with the Beastie Boys’ Mike D., Donald Robertson, and Every Mother Counts, and anecdotes from friends, celebrities, editors, and artists including Melissa McCarthy, Adam Scott, Shannon Watts, Christy Turlington, and Laura Brown.

A journey through the people, places, and things that inspire Clare and her brand, this stylish tome, printed with a luxe cloth hardcover and ribbon bookmarker, celebrates fashion, design, travel, and creative communities.

Le Sud: Recipes from Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur - RIZZOLI
Rebekah Peppler , Joann Pai (Photographer)

From James Beard Book Award finalist Rebekah Peppler: The definitive guide to the food, drink, and lifestyle of southeastern Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, featuring recipes that reflect the Provençal table from a modern perspective.

The charms of le sud are many. The food culture is vibrant and season-focused; the tables are welcoming and convivial. In Le Sud, Rebekah Peppler distills these flavors, techniques, and spirit of the South of France into a never-before-seen collection of recipes, photographs, and stories.

The region--and its many culinary viewpoints--spans from the snowcapped Southern Alps in the north to the French Mediterranean in the south, the Rhône River to the west, and Italy along its eastern border. And like many regions where landscapes and people happily crash into each other, the food is dynamic and exciting. Here are recipes--from drinks to savory to sweet--that capture the modern tables and life lived around them in the south of France today.

Le Sud's transporting photography expands our visual understanding of Provence outside solely lavender fields and endless summer holidays to showcase the geographically and culturally diverse region and its tables. As in À Table--her inspiring cookbook about dining the French way--Peppler's recipes drip in home cook equity.

Interwoven alongside the recipes and photography are fun, informative sidebars that reflect this perspective of eating and drinking in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and provide an inspiring, approachable guide to the south of France. Sidebars elevate a reader's knowledge of southeastern French cooking and eating, from the wines of the region to after-dinner drinking to the (modern) Provençal cheese plate.

Le Sud is more than a recipe book; it is a dive into and a celebration of this abundant, enchanting region that has long captured the imaginations of many.

ACCESSIBLE FRENCH COOKING: With dishes that are easy to make on a weeknight but impressive enough to serve at a party, Le Sud gives home cooks the tools they need to recreate the magic of a Provençal table anywhere in the world. Included are recipes that take you from start--Tapenades, Pissaladière, and Martini Provençal--to mains and sides--Market Day Roast Chicken and Potatoes, The Pasta I Crave Every Time I'm Near the Sea, and Ratatouille--through to the very end of the meal--Navettes, La Tropézienne, and Tarte au Citron.

MORE THAN A COOKBOOK: With insight into the staples of South of France living, from Provençal wine to marché must-haves, tips on gathering, and the longstanding tradition of apéro, this book is so much more than a collection of recipes.

A GORGEOUS GIFT FOR FRANCOPHILES: Shot in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Le Sud is filled with Joann Pai's evocative photography. Readers will feel as if they are traveling through and seated around tables across the south of France.

Perfect for:

Francophiles the world over, readers with existing memories of France, and those who want to armchair travel alike.
Anyone who loves to eat seasonally and cook with fresh ingredients.
Relaxed cooks and hosts looking for recipes that are approachable for the home cook.
Fans of Rebekah Peppler's work, including À Table, her James Beard Award-nominated book Apéritif, and her writing in the New York Times.
People of all ages who like to plan unfussy meals with delicious food and minimal prep.
Folks who dream of or are planning a trip to le sud.

Living Upriver: Artful Homes, Idyllic Lives

Author Barbara de Vries, Introduction by Emma Austen Tuccillo

The rural homes and lifestyles of modern creatives who have left city dwelling for working remotely and living simply and sustainably.
Living Upriver showcases the artisanal country way of life inspiring readers to bring nature home, be true to oneself, and foster a warm, welcoming community. The book documents twelve homes belonging to the new pioneers: creative individuals who embrace a slower lifestyle combining nostalgic remote living with modern connectivity. The homes of these designers, artisans, and entrepreneurs are restored farms, barns, cabins, and churches featuring rustic textiles and handcrafted living spaces. These comfortable, characterful rooms welcome their communities by hosting picturesque events in the summer, and cozy dinners in the winter.

Including thoughtful tips and ideas—on reclaiming old spaces, upcycling used furniture, foraging and gardening sustainably, tabletop arranging, and more—from the homeowners, who brought their new spaces to life, this book shows how we can put more of ourselves into our environment and feel more at home in doing so.

London from the Air - RIZZOLI
Author Jeffrey Milstein

Combining an architect’s eye with low-flying, aerial views, Milstein shows London’s charm, beauty, and iconic buildings in wonderful and breathtaking photographs.

By shooting with the newest high-resolution cameras while leaning out of helicopters, Milstein offers us a new take on familiar architecture and landscapes. His award-winning work brings a fresh and unexpected view of the city. Granted unusual permission to bypass the strict laws around aerial photography over the capital city, Milstein treats us to views that otherwise would not be seen, and this new book fills a gap of more than fifteen years of aerial photographs of London.

Milstein’s distinctive style—straight down—brings London to life in a way that is impossible to imagine from street level: from the Thames snaking through the heart of the city to Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, the City of London business district, Canary Wharf, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, and the magical symmetry of roads and beloved green commons.

London from the Air is sure to be treasured by anyone who loves the city by the Thames.

Missoni Deluxe Edition - RIZZOLI
A celebration of the unmistakable Missoni style, whose innovative approach mixes bold color, pattern, and material with an extraordinary sense of balance and elegance.
This deluxe edition is a limited, numbered edition with five pieces of Missoni fabric stitched into the binding, a Missoni fabric inset on the cover, reproductions of magazine covers and a vintage 1977 pattern on special paper in Bodonian binding with a leather spine in a transparent plastic carrying case with handles.
It is the first fully comprehensive book about Missoni, created with full access to the archives and with the support of the Missoni family. Lavishly designed, it features reproductions of Missoni patterns printed on special material and stitched into the binding between signatures along with other special features.
This volume was conceived as a design object, in which images, texts, original fabrics, drawings, color palettes, and fashion patterns speak to one another. Missoni celebrates an elegance that has become an artistic expression as well as something of a cultural and fashion revolution since the early 1950s, when Rosita and Ottavio Missoni began their creative journey into fashion and art, with a talent for experimentation that never betrayed the spirit of their origins in the decades to come.
Divided into thematic sections, each is introduced by an essay including quotes by the Missonis themselves, highlighting the artistic decisions that contributed to the success and recognizability of their fashion house. With previously unpublished material from both the family and the company archives, this volume is a look into the creative and artistic world of Missoni.

Modigliani: A Painter and His Art Dealer - RIZZOLI
Edited by Simonetta Fraquelli and Cécile Girardeau, Author Yaëlle Biro and Simonetta Fraquelli and Cécile Girardeau and Marie-Amélie Senot

Edited with the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, this catalog demonstrates how Modigliani’s partnership with his gallerist Paul Guillaume influenced his painting.

Amedeo Modigliani, a Jewish-Italian painter, arrived in Paris in 1906. His meeting with Constantin Brancusi in 1909 inspired Modigliani to sculpt—almost exclusively—until 1914, when he met art dealer Paul Guillaume. He returned to painting and produced countless portraits from 1914 until his death in 1920. Modigliani painted prominent contemporaries such as Jean Cocteau and Max Jacob, but also unknown models and the women in his life, including writer Béatrice Hastings and painter Jeanne Hébuterne, his partner and the mother of his child. Guillaume encouraged Modigliani, rented him an atelier in Montmartre, promoted his paintings in Parisian art and literary circles and abroad, and bought, sold, and collected more than a hundred of his paintings, fifty drawings, and a dozen sculptures. Guillaume’s writings offer intimate insight into Modigliani, highlighting their rapport and shared interests in African art, literature, and poetry. Modigliani in turn immortalized Guillaume in four portraits. This volume accompanies an exhibition at the Musée de l’Orangerie (September 20, 2023–January 15, 2024).

How to Slay: Inspiration from the Queens and Kings of Black Style

Author Constance C.R. White, Foreword by Valerie Steele

An inspirational journey through black fashion in America from the twentieth century to the present, featuring the most celebrated icons of Black style and taste.

One of the few surveys of Black style and fashion ever published, How to Slay offers a lavishly illustrated overview of African American style through the twentieth century, focusing on the last thirty-five years. Through striking images of some of the most celebrated icons of Black style and taste, from Josephine Baker, Michelle Obama, Maya Angelou, and Miles Davis to Rihanna, Naomi Campbell, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams, this book explores the cultural underpinnings of Black trends that have become so influential in mainstream popular culture and a bedrock of fashion vernacular today. A preponderance of Black musicians, who for decades have inspired trends and transformed global fashion, are featured and discussed, while a diverse array of topics are touched upon and examined—hats, hair, divas, the importance of attitude, the use of color, ’60s style, the influence of Africa and the Caribbean, and the beauty of black skin.
