Quinta Nova Reserva Blanc de Noir White 2022 - 75cl
We went to the highest slopes in the top of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo to pick the grapes that mature more slowly and maintain greater freshness and linearity, and to create a new wine: the Quinta Nova Blanc de Noir, a Reserva white wine made from red grapes.

The beautiful Tinta Roriz grapes are the first to enter our winery. We harvest them at their perfect maturation point, so that we can extract all the components that make this wine unique and sublime.

Delicate citrus aromas combined with white stone fruit support the complex and vibrant, enigmatic aroma. With remarkable firmness granted by the red grapes, this is a compact, fresh and tense wine, offering an endless finish with great precision, as a great wine should be.

Classicism combined with modern winemaking, this Reserve white wine from Quinta Nova is a thrilling wine that awakens all our senses.

Quinta Nova Centenaria Douro 2020 - 75cl
The first study for monovarietal planting in the Douro region was conducted in Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, between 1979 and 1981, in conjunction with the Portuguese Ministry of Agriculture, through the Centro de Estudos Vitivinícolas do Douro (Douro Winemaking Studies Centre). In the study, the best solar exposures were chosen in Quinta Nova to study the planting of three grape varieties: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, and Touriga Franca.

The Parcela 29 (Plot), planted with Touriga Nacional, has 3300 vines, a slope of 20%, and an altitude between 170 and 205 metres. It represents a unique wine and a fundamental piece in the history of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo in its maximum expression of terroir. A genuine Referência (reference) that combined with century-old vines, results in a wine with a very elegant profile, almost feminine, contrasting with an intense structure of juicy tannins of enormous precision. A schist texture of high gravity,
the savoury profile, and the purple colour reflects the nature of the Touriga Nacional variety.

Quinta Nova Reserve Terroir Red 75cl
This wine surprises us with its purity and sophistication. It results from a perfect combination of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo’s main grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão - a beautiful composition that reflects the simplicity and transparency of our terroir.

The wine’s intense colour stimulates individual memories and transports us to the immense vineyard and rugged landscape of the Douro wine terraces. A broad journey of flavours is manifested through the density and strength of the pleasant and seductive aromas, with a more sophisticated side provided by the use of good French oak barrels. At the time of tasting it closes with a muscular structure and a juicy texture that intertwine with the body of the wine, providing for a tense, long and deep finish.

Quinta Nova Rose 2022 - 75cl
Rosé is an invitation to experience delightful flavours. Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo Rosé stands out due to its high structure, in a slightly more aromatic version of Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and delicate Tinta Francisca, positioning itself as wine at a very high level for great rosé lovers.

The grapes are pressed using the model executed in the French region of Provence, that uses the entire grape - the renowned blanc de noirs technique. Structured by low temperature fermentation (11-12ºC) in stainless steel vats for almost 3 weeks, part of the lot is then aged in French and Hungarian oak barrels.

It is a wine that is worth remembering because of its primary aromas, mineral texture and final tension that ensures a long finish and the certainty that we will want more next year.

Taboadella Grande Villae 2019 Red - 75cl
Vineyards

Situated on a high plateau in Silvã de Cima, Dão, the vineyards at Taboadella benefit from granitic soils and a distinct microclimate influenced by both maritime and continental elements. This environment, combined with non-irrigated, sustainable practices, fosters vines that yield fruit with refined minerality and complexity, capturing the estate’s terroir.
Winemaking

The 2019 Grande Villae Red is crafted from Tinta Roriz, Jaen, Alfrocheiro, and Tinta Pinheira, all hand-harvested and vinified in stainless steel to retain freshness. 100% destemming by vibration and gravity-flow handling allows for gentle processing, preserving the wine’s purity and structure. The wine undergoes partial aging in French oak barrels, crafted from century-old trees, which enriches the profile, adding layers of complexity and a refined structure. This aging approach contributes subtle oak influence that enhances, rather than overpowers, the wine’s character.

Appearance
Deep garnet in colour, reflecting its intensity and age-worthiness.

Nose
Aromas of ripe black fruits, forest floor, and subtle spice evoke the natural surroundings of its terroir.

Palate
Grande Villae Red 2019 offers a structured palate with balanced tannins and concentrated black fruits, underscored by a fine mineral texture. The tannins and vibrant acidity add longevity, promising greater depth as it ages.
Food pairing

An ideal companion to grilled meats, roast beef, and game dishes, the wine’s bold character complements richly flavoured dishes that match its robust profile.

Background story
Located in the Dão region, the Taboadella estate combines deep historical roots with modern winemaking. The Amorim family, known for their contributions to the wine industry since 1870, purchased the estate and revitalized its unique 42-hectare vineyard in Silvã de Cima. Sitting on a high plateau between the Vale do Pereiro and Vale do Sequeiro valleys, this vineyard benefits from granite soils and a climate influenced by both Atlantic and continental patterns. These elements foster a balanced environment, where native Portuguese grape varieties thrive without irrigation, preserving the land’s authentic expression.

Taboadella’s winery, designed by architect Carlos Castanheira, reflects the family’s commitment to sustainability and precision. Using natural materials like cork and wood, the building is integrated into the landscape, with advanced gravity flow systems that minimize handling and protect the fruit’s integrity. Wines are aged in French oak barrels crafted from century-old trees, a process that enhances the wines' elegance and complexity.

Beyond its contemporary revival, Taboadella’s history dates back to Roman times, evident from ancient relics such as a 1st-century wine press carved into monolithic rock, underscoring the area’s longstanding winemaking heritage. This unique blend of ancient tradition and modern expertise allows Taboadella’s wines to authentically capture the essence of the Dão terroir, embodying both the legacy and future of this historic wine region.

Taboadella Touriga Nacional Reserva 2020 Red 75cl
Touriga Nacional is the international icon of Portuguese grape varieties. It originated in the region where it finds its greatest expression - the Dão. At Taboadella it is grown close to the ground, and sparkles in the sunlight - a great example of its natural acidity in this exceptional terroir. It allows us to detect the violets whose aroma lingers in our memory, in complementarity with the notes of high altitude, black spice and the quartzitic aroma of wet granite, offering surprising complexity.
