Stephen Frailey, director of the photography and video department at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York from 1998 to 2018, is now its chairman emeritus. In 2012, he co-founded the graduate program in fashion photography at SVA, and is currently the director of education at Red Hook Labs in Brooklyn. His work has been exhibited in major private galleries and museums such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York; International Center for Photography, New York; and the National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC. His the work has been reviewed in the 'New York Times,' 'Arts Magazine,' 'ARTnews,' 'Artforum,' 'The Village Voice,' and the 'New Yorker.' He is co-founder of the New York Fashion Film Festival, and in 2007 he founded the photography magazine 'Dear Dave,' of which he is editor-in-chief.
